There are many ways of laying parquet.  

Depending on the kind of parquet, floor height and type of wood, parquet can be adhered, nailed or even laid as a floating floor, i.e. without glue, or using the tongue-and-groove technique. A whole range of factors have to be taken into consideration: quality of the raw floor, height of the raw floor compared to the height of the adjoining structures, room temperature and humidity. A crucial role is also played by the right sanding finish and corresponding surface treatment.
